CHATMUP
+++++++
version 1.00 June 18, 1992
Wildcat! SysOp's Chat Global Selector
a public domain Wildcat! SysOps' utility by Michael Conley.
(designed for use with Wildcat! 3.xx data files)
[ requires BRUN40.EXE in the path ]
What it does:
-------------
CHATMUP is designed to globally alter your caller's default chat status
selection, limited by any group of security levels.
Running the program:
--------------------
WARNING: CHATMUP reads and WRITES to your Wildcat! user record file,
ALLUSERS.DAT. Please make a backup copy of ALLUSERS.* (usually found
in your \WC30\DATA directory) before using CHATMUP.
OTHER WARNING: Because CHATMUP reads and writes to your user records,
you must TERMINATE ALL NODES of Wildcat! before running CHATMUP.
No configuration is required for CHATMUP. CHATMUP will find MAKEWILD
anywhere in your DOS path, and use the path specified in MAKEWILD to
locate your user file.
Start CHATMUP. It will read your Wildcat! data files and present you
with a list of your security levels. You may scroll through these with
the up-and-down arrows, PgUp, PgDn, Home and End keys. To activate a
security level, press the [space bar] ... a black diamond will appear
next to the chosen level. Press the space bar again to deactivate a
particular level, in case you select one in error.
When through with your Security selections, press the [ENTER] key and
CHATMUP will read through all of your users, checking those whose
security levels match the tagged choices. It will then ENABLE Chat
(Page Availability) for all matching users.

PROBLEMS, SUGGESTIONS:
This program is public domain. I don't seek or accept any donations or
registration fees for any of my Wildcat! utility programs, including
TODAYBBS, FLOP, MSTAT, USTAT, and others ... however I invite you to
read the short textfile "SHARE" enclosed in this ZIPfile. It suggests
that you make a contribution to YOUR favorite charity if you find this
program useful.
I welcome suggestions, and will try to help (no guarantees) if there are
problems.
You may contact me at The Charlatan's Cabin BBS (213) 654-7337. Mention
your Wildcat! registration number in the comment and you'll be upgraded to
visiting sysop level without the usually required registration by mail.
You may also leave a message via CompuServe EMail. My CompuServe account
number is 70250,220. I also regularly check the Mustang Software head-
quarters BBS, especially the "3rd Party Utilities Help" conference.
Please, NO VOICE CALLS. This isn't meant to be unfriendly, but with the
price of public domain software these days ... I just can't afford to be
"on call." I WILL respond to your questions via my BBS or CompuServe,
or via the Mustang Software registered SysOp BBS.
